Procedure

Use the following steps to reset a I/O-22to its factory default settings:

The I/O-22 will reset its name and its IP settings back to factory defaults when the reset pin at the side is depressed for at least 10 seconds.

  1. Locate the unmarked reset pin hole is located on the "left side toward the rear" when viewed with the I/O-22's connectors facing you with its labels right-side up.

  1. Using a paperclip or other small tool, depress the reset pin for at least 10 seconds.

    Note

You can confirm the reset pin is being depressed by looking at the green STATUS indicator LED, which is near the PWR (power) LED on the "front" of the unit. As the reset pin is depressed the STATUS LED will turn on -- remove the pin before 10 seconds and the LED will turn off, but the unit will not reset.

After 10 seconds the STATUS LED will automatically turn off, indicating the I/O-22 has been reset. The unit should return to a factory default name "IO22-xxxx" with the xxxx being the last four characters of the unit's MAC address. It should also take on dynamic (DHCP) settings for the IP values. If there is no DHCP server on the network the unit will timeout with an Auto-IP address in the 169.254.X.X range.
