Problem

While participating in a Zoom Rooms call, users have reported visual artifacts or trailing artifacts in the camera feed when an NC series camera is being used for the call. This may be seen as a “trailing” or “ghosting” effect following small movements made by participants in the room.

Solution | Workaround

The suggested solution is to disable the following setting from the Zoom Rooms admin portal: “Optimize quality of the video | send with de-noise”. To find this setting, login to the Zoom Rooms admin portal, navigate to Room Management, and then to the specific room, select Room Settings, select the Device management tab, and find the section titled “Video encode and decode options (use only when directed by Zoom Support)”. Enable the toggle to expand  a list of settings, then uncheck the box next to “Optimize quality of the video | send with de-noise” and click Save. Wait a few moments for the change to take effect, then join a test call from the Zoom Rooms controller to verify if the issue has been resolved.

Note

The setting warns the administrator to only adjust these settings when directed by Zoom support. Therefore, this article is only to suggest disabling this one specific setting. Please reach out to Zoom support with any specific questions around the specific functions of the settings in this section.
