Answer

A Gateway (also known as the Default Gateway) is used to route network data to devices outside of the local subnets configured on the Q-SYS Core's LAN interfaces. You should only configure the Q-SYS Core with a single Gateway, either through Static or Auto (DHCP) addressing. Configuring a Gateway on more than one LAN interface causes negative and unpredictable behavior.

When a computer has multiple NICs, each can act like a different door. But having more than one matching gateway can cause trouble. If the computer doesn’t know which gateway to use, it might send data to the wrong place.

In the networking world, IP addresses are like names. They help computers find each other on the network. If two NICs have overlapping IP addresses (like having the same), it creates confusion. The computer won’t know which NIC to use for specific tasks.
