The information below covers setup and configuration of RoomSuite Modular System and Q-SYS Connect for Zoom Rooms.

Setup

  1. Double-click the Q-SYS Connect Installer and allow Q-SYS Connect to make changes to your device.

  1. Select Zoom Rooms.

  1. Continue to allow the install wizard to install Q-SYS Connect and configure your Zoom Rooms selection. Do not cancel the install as it will take a few minutes.
  2. Click Finish to close the wizard.
 
 

Connect Configuration

  1. Locate and click Q-SYS Connect icon in the system tray.

  1. In the Name field type: QSYSConnectZR
    1. RMS uses this name to discover and bind to the correct Q‑SYS Connect instance.

  1. In the Network Interface, select the address in the 192.168.2.x range.
  2. Click the (X) to close Q-SYS Connect and reboot the ZR compute.
 
 

Zoom Configuration

After completing the Q-SYS Connect installation and post-installation steps, configure the Zoom Admin portal to enable the Virtual Display feature.

  1. In RoomSuite, go to the Devices tab.

  1. The Conference Compatibility Mode should be set to Zoom Rooms

  1. Click the Link Room Controls link.
  2. In the prompt, click Generate and Copy URL Path + Token.
  3. Paste the code into Notepad. You'll need this in the next steps.
    1. Example: /api-uci/v0/ucis/e0853636-0355-4884-893b-75ea76dld4cb?setPage=SecondPage
      1.     = URL
      2.     = Auth Token 
  1. Sign in to the Zoom Admin portal.
  2. Navigate to Room Management → Zoom Rooms.
  3. Select the applicable room.
  4. Go to Setup.
  5. Go to  Devices.
  6. Ensure Q-SYS Control is enabled.

  1. Click Configure App.
  2. In the prompt, select Authorization Bearer Token.

  1. Fill out the following fields:
    1. Auth Token - using the e0853636-0355-4884-893b-75ea76dld4cb?setPage=SecondPage portion of code from the Notepad file.
    2. URL - first adding the IP of the RoomSuite system followed by the /api-uci/v0/ucis/  portion of code from the Notepad file.
  2. Add any applicable IPs and Domains for the system.
  3. Check Allow Unverified Connections for any added domains.
  4. Click Save.
  5. Go back to Zoom Rooms Setup tab.
  6. Enable "Use Windows-attached Zoom Rooms Controller with specific Windows Monitor hardware IDs."
  7. In the hardware ID field, enter: QSC:QSC4456

  1. Click Save.

Q-SYS Connect's Virtual Display feature uses QSC:QSC4456 as the hardware ID. Once this setting is applied, the Zoom Room will map the Zoom Room Controller UI to the Virtual Display output.
