Quick Start | Enable/Disable ACPR Directly from Zoom Rooms Controller
Learn how to quickly enable or disable ACPR using the Zoom Rooms Controller for streamlined meeting management.
Uses | Features
Q-SYS Automatic Camera Preset Recall (ACPR) can be enabled and disabled directly from a Zoom Rooms controller in conjunction with the Q-SYS Zoom Rooms advanced camera modes available in Q-SYS Designer versions 10.2 and later.
Compatible Products
- Q-SYS Cameras with ACPR and Q-SYS Core
- Zoom Rooms on Windows or Mac
Setup | Installation
This guide is intended to be followed once ACPR is programmed and ready for normal use. See Tip | ACPR Best Practices and Considerations for more information.
Note
Note this article is specific to Speaker Focus with the ACPR block running on a Q-SYS Core. If you are looking to set up Speaker Focus and Auto Framing with a single NC-90-G2, see Quick Start | NC-90-G2 with Zoom Rooms Advanced Camera Features.
Deployment
In your Q-SYS Design, while in design mode:
- Select the Q-SYS Core in the Inventory pane (or whichever Q-SYS bridging device you will be using to bridge the camera output to the Zoom Room computer).
- In the Properties pane, click the drop-down for USB Video bridge.
- Select Enable.
- Select the drop-down next to UCC Compatibility.
- Select Zoom.
- Select the drop-down next to USB Video Bridge.
- Click Enabled.
- From the Core's inventory item, drag the USB Video bridge component into the design.
- Click on the Video Bridge component once.
- Look under the Control Pins section in the right-hand Properties pane.
- Select the arrow to expand "Status"
- Click the check box for Speaker Focus.
Note
The camera mode that will ultimately show on the Zoom Rooms controller will say Speaker Focus, Q-SYS ACPR is the comparable camera function in this example.
- To expose the "Tracking Bypass" pin, click on the ACPR component once.
- In the Control Pins section on the right pane, click the arrow to expand the Settings section.
- Check “Tracking Bypass”. The “Settings Tracking Bypass” pin will now be exposed under the ACPR component.
- Add a Control Function component into the design by selecting the Function drop down in the properties pane to change the Control Function to Logic NOT.
- Wire the output pin from the Speaker Focus pin on the USB Video Bridge to the input pin of the Logic NOT component.
- Wire the corresponding output pin from the Logic Not to the input pin of the ACPR Tracking Bypass pin.
Why a Logic-NOT?
The intention is that when Speaker Focus is selected on the Zoom Rooms controller, ACPR will become active. Therefore, when the Speaker Focus mode is selected, the "Settings Tracking Bypass" pin needs to receive a “false” logic function. The simplest way to achieve this will be to wire the Status Speaker Focus pin from the USB Video Bridge to a Logic NOT control function block, then wire the Logic NOT output pin to the Disabled pin on the ACPR block. See below for a wiring example.
Once the design is live, from the Zoom Rooms Controller interface, when joined to a call, you can select the Camera Control button, and will then see the option to select Speaker Focus. When selected, ACPR should become active and function autonomously as usual.
