The NC-90-G2 is the next-gen network ePTZ camera that combines onboard AI with enhanced optics to deliver an automated collaboration experience in smaller, wider collaboration spaces. This guide will walk through use of the NC-90-G2 with the Advanced Camera Features in Zoom Rooms.
Uses | Features
As of Q-SYS Designer version 10.2, the AI-driven advanced camera features of the Q-SYS NC-90-G2 can be seamlessly integrated as selectable camera modes on a Zoom Rooms controller (currently only supported on Zoom Rooms on Windows). This guide walks through enabling connections for Auto-Framing and Zoom Rooms Speaker Focus when using an NC-90-G2 as the room camera.
Requirements
Please ensure that you have the following physical and software components:
Physical Components
- Zoom Rooms Compute and Controller
- Q-SYS Core Processor and audio video peripherals
Software Components
- Q-SYS Designer Software 10.2 or higher
- Zoom Rooms Sample Q-SYS Design (available for download in Q-SYS Designer Software with Asset Manager).

Setup | Installation
- Select the Q-SYS Core in the Inventory pane (or whichever Q-SYS bridging device you will be using to bridge the camera output to the Zoom Room computer).
- In the Properties pane, click the drop-down for USB Video bridge.
- Select Enable.
- Select the drop-down next to UCC Compatibility.
- Select Zoom.
- Select the drop-down next to USB Video Bridge.
- Click "Enabled".
- From the Core's inventory item, drag the USB Video bridge block into the design.
- Click on the Video Bridge block once.
- Look under the Control Pins section in the right-hand Properties pane.
- Click the drop-down for Zoom Rooms Auto Framing.
- Select Enable.
- Do the same for Zoom Rooms Speaker Focus.
- Select the arrow to expand Status.
- Click the check box for Auto Framing.
- Check box for Speaker Focus.
- Add an NC-90-G2 to the design's Inventory.
- Ensure the name of the NC-90-G2 in the design matches the name of the NC-90-G2 camera that is installed in the room.
- Drag the NC-90-G2 Status/Control block into the design.
- Select the Status/Control block by clicking once.
- Look under Control Pins on the right-hand Properties pane.
- Expand Auto Framing.
- Select the check box for Enable.
- Do the same for Active Speaker Framing.
- Active Speaker Framing is the function that will correlate with Zoom's Speaker Focus mode.
- Wire the “Status Auto Framing” output pin on the USB Video Bridge to the “Auto Framing Enable” input pin on the NC-90-G2 status block by drawing a wire or assigning a signal tag to connect the pins.
- Do the same to wire the “Status Speaker Focus” output pin on the USB Video Bridge to the “Active Speaker Framing Enable” input pin on the NC-90-G2 status/control block.
- Connect the Mediacast output pin from the NC-90-G2 status/control block to the Mediacast input pin on the USB Video Bridge.
Note
This connection can also be done by drawing a wire between the two, or assigning a signal tag to the Mediacast pins.
- Save to Core & Run.
Once the design is live, from the Zoom Rooms Controller interface, when joined to a call, you can select the Camera Control button, and will then have the option to select Auto-Framing and/or Speaker Focus.
Examples
The finished wiring for these advanced camera functions should look similar to the example in the image below. Note that the control pins for each block populate alphabetically; use caution to make sure the correct corresponding pins are wired to each other.
