FAQ | What are the network cable requirements for Q-SYS devices?
Answer
The following minimum requirements should be considered when designing a system in the Q-SYS Ecosystem:
- 1000 Base-T gigabit Ethernet over Category 5e cable or better
- 8P8C modular connectors (RJ45)
- ASNI/TIA-568-B.2 wiring pin-out
While not necessary, STP cabling may be used.
Note:
If using STP cabling, extra care should be taken not to introduce grounding issues into the system.
