FAQ | What acoustic conditions does VisionSuite Native require?
Learn the acoustic conditions needed for optimal performance of VisionSuite Native.
Answer
Beamforming microphones rely on accurate direction-of-arrival data. Therefore, room acoustics need special attention for successful VisionSuite deployments.
Our recommendations are the following:
- RT60 of 0.3-0.5s (0.6-0.8s maximum)
- Background noise no higher than NC-35, or 35-45 dBA SPL
- Signal-to-noise ratio of 30dB (20dB minimum)
- Minimum microphone distance of 1.2m / 4ft from loudspeakers (3m / 10ft from high-SPL loudspeakers) and minimum 1.2m / 4ft from HVAC
Avoid reflective and hard surfaces like glass or concrete, leveraging acoustic panels, carpeting, and curtains to stabilize room acoustics.
