The Shure MXA920 provides 8 dynamic beams that can independently report speaker positions and more accurately report speaker locations. This allows it to send multiple speaker locations simultaneously and quickly switch between active speakers, allowing VisionSuite to keep up even in lively group discussions.

The Shure MXA920 also reports talker height data in the Z axis, helping VisionSuite to aim the cameras for standing participants speaking. To achieve the best results, we nevertheless recommend to always fix the speaker height within VisionSuite Designer if supporting standing-sitting configurations isn’t necessary.

The Sennheiser TCC2, by design, uses a single dynamic beam which automatically aligns to the position of the person speaking. This means that when multiple participants speak simultaneously, the TCC2 will report the position of the loudest speaker, instead of reporting multiple speaker locations. This also means the TCC2 takes longer to identify and report a new speaker location, as it has to finish moving its beam first before publishing a speaker’s location.

The TCC2 does not provide height data in the Z axis. This means that in VisionSuite Designer, users must configure a fixed height (e.g. seating height ~1.4m). Setting a fixed height with the TCC2 is not necessary if using an audience-facing conductor camera, this will contribute vision data to Speaker Spotlight, aiding VisionSuite to detect speaker height.
