Factory Reset | Server Core X10 / VSA-100
Learn how to perform a factory reset on Server Core X10/VSA-100 to restore it to its original state and improve performance.
Procedure
Factory Reset Initiation
The factory reset process is initiated when the user presses and holds down both the center ID button and one or more of the directional (up/down/left/right) buttons simultaneously.
3-second Button Hold Timer
When the center ID button and one or more of the directional buttons are pressed, two things occur immediately:
- A three second timer starts
- The screen displays the text “Factory Reset in X seconds”, with 'X' replaced by the number of seconds left on the timer (rounded - updates every second)
During this 3-second period, if the user releases a button such that the center ID button and one or more of the directional buttons are no longer held down, the factory reset process is cancelled and the screen reverts to Page 1.
Confirmation Screen
After the 3-second Button Hold Timer expires, the screen will updates to: "Factory Reset - Press ID to confirm". In this state, the user has the following options:
- Press the center ID button to confirm and proceed with the factory reset.
- Press any of the directional buttons to cancel the factory reset, causing the screen to revert to Page 1.
- If no action is taken within 30 seconds, the factory reset process is cancelled and the screen reverts to Page 1.
Factory Reset Execution
If the user presses the center ID button to confirm, the factory reset process will begin.
The user will be notified with the message: "Factory Reset Done - Rebooting".
