Problem | Symptoms

In some cases, Q-SYS Core Dante Receivers may experience popping noise from Dante enabled mixing consoles. Pops may be audible, or in some cases displayed on the receiver metering if no audio is currently streaming.

Causes | Verification

This issue is typically related to a clocking mismatch between the mixing console and the Dante network.

Solution | Workaround

To resolve the issue, follow these steps:

  1. Access the mixing console settings.

    Note

Contact console manufacturer if assistance is needed.

  2. Verify that the console and Dante I/O card firmware are up to date.
  3. Navigate to the mixing console clock settings.
  4. Change the clock source from the console’s internal clock to the Dante I/O card.

Aligning the clock source with the Dante network ensures proper synchronization and eliminates unwanted artifacts such as popping or clicking noises.
