How To | Enabling PTP-TC on NS Series Gen 2 Switches

Learn how to enable PTP-TC functionality on NS Series Gen 2 switches for improved timing and synchronization in your network.

Procedure


Use the following for enabling PTP-TC on NS Series Gen 2 switches. 

There are two methods to enable PTP-TC on NS Series Gen 2 switches; via the AV User Interface or the Main User Interface.

AV User Interface

  1. Go to the AV User Interface.

  1. Navigate to Network Profiles and perform one of the following:
  2. Click the three-dot menu next to an existing network profile and select Edit.
  3. Create a new network profile.
  4. Enable the PTP-TC option by toggling the corresponding setting to On.

  1. Check the interfaces that need to be part of this VLAN.

Once enabled, the system automatically applies the required configuration at both levels; Global Configuration Mode and Interface Level Configuration.

 
 

Main User Interface

Enable PTP-TC Globally

  1. Login to the Main User Interface.

  1. Navigate to System > Management > PTP TC.
  2. Click Enable.
  3. Click Apply in the upper-right corner of the screen to save and apply the configuration.

This enables PTP Transparent Clock globally on the device.

Enable PTP-TC on Interfaces

After enabling PTP-TC globally:

  1. Navigate to the Interface Configuration section.
  2. Select the desired interface(s) by checking the corresponding boxes.

  1. Set the Configuration Mode to Enabled.
  2. Click Apply
  3. Click Save to apply the new configuration changes.

Once completed, PTP Transparent Clock will be enabled globally and on the selected interfaces.
