Answer
Mismatched hardware between redundant Cores is not tested or supported. Always use two identically configured Cores for redundancy. Although Q-SYS Designer does allow you to push a design where the hardware does not match between redundant Cores, during a failover, the secondary Core will show a "slot X wrong type" fault. There is no way to suppress this error.
