Procedure

Check the following:

PoE Port

Q-SYS NS Series switches support up to PoE+ (IEEE802.3at). However, PoE power is not available through every port on the switch. If your device is not powering up, make sure it's connected to one of the ports that supplies PoE. Port numbers printed with orange text support PoE.

For reference, here are the port numbers on each switch model supporting PoE:

  • NS-1108P - Ports 1-4
  • NS-1124P - Ports 1-16
  • NS-1148P - Ports 1-24

Cable

A bad cable can result in no power reaching the device so check the cable for correct wiring and continuity.

Power

The switches cannot supply full PoE+ power to all PoE ports simultaneously. There is a power limit and the switch will not power additional units once that limit has been reached.

Refer to the QSC website for the specific power budget for each switch.
