Answer
Firmware for Q-SYS Core processors and peripherals is embedded in Q-SYS Designer Software (QDS). Each version of QDS is also the firmware version.
When deploying a system, QDS checks the firmware version of the Core and prompts to upgrade or downgrade accordingly. Once the Core has been updated, it updates the firmware of all Q-SYS peripherals in the design to match.
