Awareness | Core 110f unable to connect to more than 8 Dante devices with a 16x16 or 32x32 Software Dante license

This article explains why Core 110f is limited to 8 Dante devices when using the 16x16 or 32x32 Software Dante license.

Note:

The release of Q-SYS Designer 9.5 has expanded software-based Dante capability for the Core 110f. The updated 32x32 license now allows for 16 Dante flows.

When using a Core 110f with a 16x16 or 32x32 Software Dante license, you do have the capability of using the full 16 or 32 channels in and out, with the maximum of 8 Dante flows. If you have a Dante 16x16 or 32x32 license on a Core 110f and are unable to receive or transmit more than 8 channels, this could be due to running out of Dante flows. The Core 110f is limited to 8 Dante flows, and each Dante device that is connected up and streaming will take one of these 8 flows. So, even if you have the capability of up to 16 or 32 channels of Dante, unless there is an available Dante flow, the Core110f will not be able to pass signal.

A simple workaround for this is to run the remainder Dante devices as AES67 traffic, which is not limited by the amount of Dante Flows.
