Problem

After firmware update, Core freezes on Q-SYS logo screen

Causes

In rare instances, a Q-SYS Core processor can require a power cycle following a firmware update.

Solution | Workaround

If the Core is frozen showing the "Q-SYS Systems" logo on the front panel, follow these steps:

  1. In Q-SYS Designer Software, click Cancel for the firmware update.
  2. Disconnect power from the Core and wait 30 seconds.
  3. Reapply power to the Core.

Once the Core boots, it should move from Idle to Running status and indicate the new firmware version. If the design does not show as Running, save and run the design to the Core from Q-SYS Designer Software.
