FAQ | Does the PJ-Link Control plugin need ICMP (Ping) to work properly?
Find out if the PJ-Link Control plugin requires ICMP (Ping) to function appropriately.
Answer
Yes - if ICMP (ping) is not enabled on the switch or the network between the Core and the target device, then the plugin will not function properly. Once ICMP is available, the plugin will work as expected.
Note
Particularly noteworthy if a customer has one of our Dell EMC switches running early configurations that did not have ICMP enabled.
