Awareness | UC Integration License in Q-Sys Designer v9.10

Discover how to leverage the new UC Integration License in Q-Sys Designer v9.10.

Updated at May 8th, 2024

Information

In Q-SYS Designer 9.10, support for the UC Integration license was added. This new license enables a subset of Control functionality to run on a Core and is included as part of the Q-SYS UC Compute Bundle. When emulating your design, loading to the Core, or viewing licensing requirements in Inspector in Q-SYS Designer 9.10 and higher, you may receive a warning about your Design File requiring a UC Integration license in addition to a scripting or UCI license. Q-SYS Designer’s compiler displays all possible licenses that would enable the designs required functionality, but not all are required to deploy the design file.

Note

A separate license is not required if you're design file worked without issue prior to the upgrade. For instance, if your design file required both the Scripting Engine and UCI Deployment licenses and you have those installed on the Core, there's no need to purchase additional licenses for working in v9.10.

The Q-SYS UC Integration License is designed to streamline integration of Q-SYS with Microsoft Teams Rooms, Google Meet, and Zoom Room hardware. Unlike other licenses that must be purchased for specific Core models, this single license may be applied to any Q-SYS Core processor to enable a subset of Q-SYS control functionality aimed at the needs of a single room collaboration system. The enabled functionality includes:

  • Support for up to 4 active UCIs
  • Support for up to 8 plugins / scripts
  • Enables the 2nd Page Experience (Q-SYS room controls on certified MTR controllers) for Microsoft Teams Rooms systems
