"USB Device Descriptor Failed" in Windows Device Manager when connecting a Core.


Definition

The USB bridging component becomes corrupted and Windows will not see the bridge as a device.


 

Solution | Workaround

To resolve:

  1. Disconnect the USB cable from the computer.
  2. Back up your current design file and notate the Core's network settings in Core Manager.
  3. Perform a factory reset on your Core by following the reset procedure in the manual.
  4. Reconfigure the IP addressing and host name in Core Manager.
  5. Reload the design file from your backup and deploy to the Core.
  6. Reconnect the USB cable to the computer.
