Answer
The short answer is no. We actually do not provide MTBF figures, although this question comes up occasionally. MTBF figures for complete systems (finished goods) do not accurately predict the lifespan of the product and obtaining the figures is a complex process. We believe more realistic data for complete systems are the results of HALT, HASS and HASA testing.
Going forward, and starting with the Core 510i and I/O-8 Flex, we are also providing environmental figures (operating and storage temperature ranges, thermal output, operating humidity range, maximum continuous vibration during operation, expected service life and EFUP). The Core 510i and the I/O-8 Flex include all of these specifications in their respective Install Manuals. Note, we will be adding acoustic/mechanical noise specifications to products that include active coolers or other moving assemblies in the near future as well.
